1. Lab Overview
The E-Top climate lab is a real-environment imitation laboratory which could imitate minus 18 degree indoor temperature as the winter in Europe.
The lab aims to test the heating/cooling control and thermo dynamics,to imitate the actual heating systems and to verify if the thermostat’s control is comfortable and meets the target design and purpose.
2. Design Concept
The lab peripheries are made of thermal insulation materials which is able to create constant temperature and humidity environment. It can be lower to minus 20°C through the refrigerator (simulating winter temperature) with thermostat installed and controlled . This laboratory can actually restore the heating conditions of actual users in winter. It is well equipped with detection systems and able to upload real-time data to the computure via Modbus or RJ45 to the upper computure. The lab can offer abundant experiment data to be used for the control algorithem and logic.
3. Lab composition
The periphery of the entire laboratory is made of special thermal insulation materials, and four high-power refrigerators are installed in the four corners of the inner top location. Through the external controller, the internal temperature of the laboratory can be lowered to a low temperature environment of -20°, and it can also be programmed with temperature changing to simulate the temperature changes of nature in winter.
The lab is built with three rooms and two halls. The main structure uses wooden wall structure, built-in wooden keel and thermal insulation, waterproof and sound insulation materials. The inner wall uses 4mm cement board, and the thickness of the whole wall is 180mm-210mm. , the wall and the ground are installed with thermocouple devices to detect the temperature of the room
3-3.Water Heating Systems
Normally boilers heat up the water temperature to 50-60 degree and flow to the pipes, transferring the heat to upper air homogeneously and to heat up the floors.
The boiler heats the water temperature to 70 degrees and flow the water to the radiator through the pipeline. The inside of the radiator is a relatively high heat medium, and the outside is the indoor air with a relatively low temperature, so that the heat is carried out by convection. The outer surface of the radiator transfers heat to the indoor air through convection and thermal radiation heat exchange to achieve the purpose of heating.
